Mindsets, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' latest release features six brand new originals plus live versions of the tracks. The album serves as a reminder of what the band is all about – the perfect blend of punk and rock n' roll that feels timeless and immediate at once. "If You're Blue" kicks off the EP with the band's signature crunchy, distortion forward guitar, hooky chorus, and Jett's powerful, snarling vocals. Every track has its own spin on the band's signature tight instrumentation and heavy guitar riffs which provide the perfect backdrop for Jett's vocals, creating a sound that is both powerful and infectious. Jett's voice is a force to be reckoned with as her powerful vocals are full of attitude and emotion. She delivers each song with strong conviction and energy.

Splinter was comprised of duo Bill Elliot and Bobby Purvis, and their blend of folk, pop, and rock were introduced to Dark Horse Records founder George Harrison in 1973. Harrison was quick to spot their potential and made them one of the first signings to his new label.
The band’s debut album The Place I Love was produced by Harrison and features extensive guitar work by the legendary musician, as well as contributions from Billy Preston, Jim Keltner, and Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) and Gary Wright (Spooky Tooth and “Dream Weaver.”)
One of the earliest recordings to be made at Harrison’s FPSHOT studio in his Friar Park home, this critically acclaimed album was the first to be released on Dark Horse. Billboard highlighted the band’s “strong harmony vocals,” whilst Melody Maker called the album an “outstanding debut.”

Unreleased until now, the record captures Dan in his hometown scene before the world had really met him. Featuring three co-writes by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and guitar guests like Stephen Carpenter of the Deftones and Jonah Matranga of Far and Onelinedrawing, Taproot's Blue-Sky Research tapped a more melodic vein than its predecessors and sold well in 2005 on the strength of such singles as "Calling" and "Birthday." It proved to be their last album for Atlantic, though, which probably explains why it has never seen a vinyl release. Our reissue comes with an inner sleeve housing a (natch) "blue sky" vinyl pressing limited to 1500 copies worldwide.

"We decided to return to Carson Creek Ranch's 'River Stage', the former site of LEVITATION to bring it all back home. The setting lent itself well to the hot and humid Vietnam river delta feel we were trying to capture. In the early days we used to play along with the film “Apocalypse Now” and this brings it back full circle. - THE BLACK ANGELS

DEATH, the heavy metal institution founded, realized, and helmed by legendary guitarist Chuck Schuldiner, released the Individual Thought Patterns album (the follow-up to their watershed Human release) in 1993. Expectations were high following Human, but Schuldiner proved once again that he could rise to any occasion. Individual Thought Patterns further honed the forward-thinking and progressive direction birthed with Human and included “The Philosopher,” arguably the best song to ever come from the world of extreme metal and to this date the most widely-recognized.

The last album with the original line-up (plus guitarist Yogi Lonich), 2001's Time Bomb showed that, for Buckcherry, there was no place to go but down. And we mean WAY down…lead singer Josh Todd could have won the award for Rock Star Least Likely to Survive the Year after this record came out. Tracks like "Slit My Wrists," "Whiskey in the Morning," and "Porno Star" capture and celebrate a lifestyle decadent even by the standards of the band's Sunset Strip stomping grounds. Yet, Todd and Buckcherry are still rockin' over 20 years later...and Time Bomb holds up with its post-AC/DC/Aerosmith/Guns 'N' Roses/Mötley Crüe unholy racket. First time on vinyl, in a metallic brown with black swirl pressing limited to 2500 copies worldwide, complete with inner sleeve!

Long, long ago, at the beginning of the new millennium, the world begot Enon. It was before Willliamsburg was, like, totally over, before beards made you cool, and just at the cusp of all this modern computer recording tomfoolery. What a time, before innocence lost.
From all this came a much beloved and oft-overlooked record – one Touch and Go is damn proud to re-issue on vinyl – Believo! This record makes a bridge between the 20th and 21st centuries – full of effects, samples, pop sensibilities, and a complete respect for and disregard of The Rules.
In 2000, Enon was all Brooklyn style, comprised of John Schmersal of Brainiac and Rick Lee and Steve Calhoon of Skeleton Key. John and Rick bonded over a penchant for suitcases full of electronics and battery powered trickery – portable musical distractions capable of making tracks on the fly. That’s what this era was all about for Enon – the suitcases and being in the moment wherever they were. Though the band would later evolve to 2007’s lineup of Schmersal, Toko Yasuda and Matt Schulz, you’ve got to know where you’re coming from to see how you got to where you are today. So, come along with us, please, to the re-birth of Believo!"

In 1989, the Ukrainian band Vopli Vidopliassova, darlings of the Soviet punk scene, released a semi-official cassette tape called Tantsi (“Dances”). The album contained songs in both Ukrainian and Russian and was recorded in one night, at an adrenaline-fueled DIY session in Kyiv. It was intended by the band members to be nothing more than a demo tape. But soon fans started dubbing the cassette, and for connoisseurs of Soviet punk, the recording quickly gained cult status for its nervy and often hilarious songs poking fun at life in the last years of the USSR. In 2019, the original session tape was re-discovered, and in 2023, Tantsi finally gets its first official release. Featuring the original album fully re-mastered plus some rare bonus tracks, Tantsi is a time capsule from late Soviet Kyiv, where Ukrainian punks were rebelling against the repressive rule from the Kremlin, and imagining new horizons of possibility. Tantsi will be released on vinyl for the first time for Record Store Day 2023, limited to 2,000 copies worldwide. A book in the 33 1/3 series will be published about the album in May 2023.

RidingEasy Records has teamed up with Permanent Records in Los Angeles to bring this very special heavy psych rocker back into the fold for Record Store Day 2023. New York City-based African-American/Latino hard rock/psych trio Maximillian released their sole self-titled album on ABC Records in 1969, then promptly vanished. It has remained a collectors’ conversation piece ever since.
Maximillian combined elements of beat poetry, a little bit of The Fugs, a hit of Funkadelic, a lick of Cream and a vibe of Hendrix worship with an ambition that seems to have jumbled these influences. The Maximillian album is a rare artifact of late-‘60s psychedelic rock whose appeal is not the skill of their musicianship, but the downright strangeness of it. While at times it sounds like the trio is playing entirely different songs at the same time, it’s said that producer Teddy Vann had a hand in the album’s sometimes confusing production.
The group credited on the album consists of singer Buzzy Bowzer (aka Maximillian), lead guitarist Mojack Maximillian, and bassist Moby Medina (aka Moby Maximillian) with drummer Jerry Nolan later of the New York Dolls oddly uncredited on the LP. However, according to Nolan’s official biography, the band was actually co-founded by Buzzy and Nolan in 1968. The drummer was reported to have feuded with Vann, who disliked his Mitch Mitchell-influenced style, and was subsequently mixed very quietly and not credited on the album.
The album’s eye-catching artwork features the sharp-dressed band crucified on flower-covered crosses, with a cryptic and self-aggrandizing manifesto describing them as “new prophets of love and truth.” Be that as it may, their prophecy was short-lived, though it may have foretold the chaotic, rudimentary sounds to come in punk, and even, the grunge era.
The album opens with what sounds like an alternate reality version of Procol Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale” here re-tripping the light fandango under the guise of “Naked Ape.” A short 4-second sputtering of a violin tuning starts and abruptly ends as funereal fuzz bass and drums set up the melody and shimmering organ, violin squall and Bowzer’s howling voice wails of the failures of human evolution. “Kickin’ 9 to 5” starts like an early Hendrix groove before turning on a dime into a Bo Diddley-esque dirge, replete with the drums hard panned to the left channel and a persistent maraca on the right. Bowzer’s diction on “Scar On My Memory” predates Mark E. Smith of The Fall’s signature added vowels at the end of most words, while the music sounds like a more acid damaged take on fellow NYC freak-folkers Exuma. Elsewhere, “The Name of The Game” echoes “Manic Depression” with churning, rolling drums and a chiming guitar following Bowzer’s growling blues until the song suddenly shifts into a lurching rave-up, then a blues rumble for a few bars before mutating back to the original riff. Album closer “Moby’s House” is by far the most unusual track, sounding like a pastiche of the album’s songs cut and spliced together in random fashion, perhaps in homage to The Beatles’ “Revolution No. 9.” Throughout the album, random percussion and other instruments pop up as though the producer were assuring he could take credit for song arrangements.
This album has been out of print for almost fifty years, it is available digitally but there hasn't been a legal pressing of the album since 1969.

In 1992, The Residents pondered their 20th Anniversary. A best-of collection had been proposed, and the group gathered together to draw up a potential tracklist. All was well until one of the Eyeballed Entities, unconsciously expressing something none of them had been able to verbalize, threw up on that tracklist.
Once the dust had settled, somewhere in there, amongst the resulting soggy mess of vomit, paper and ink, The Residents noticed the proposed best-of song titles had congealed into a collage of new, never before heard tunes. 'Kick A Cat' and 'Picnic In The Jungle' had become 'Kick A Picnic', whilst 'Amber' and 'Six Things To A Cycle' had become 'Six Amber Things'. You get the idea.
This was it! Inspired by the rather repulsive mess that sat before them, the group chose to take the entire episode as a sign and began recording collages of select tracks from their back catalogue as instructed by those soggy scraps. What better way to celebrate twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom and sacrifice a few of their own sacred cows at the same time?!
Never before released on vinyl, and with their 50th Anniversary in mind in 2023, The Residents now present 'Our Finest Flowers' for your consideration again. The classic 1992 20th Anniversary album, which saw The Residents rework lyrics, melodies and themes from their entire back catalog into an album of new tracks, on vinyl for the first time. Includes an insightful new essay by JIM KNIPFEL. Celebrating twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom...
